It is important for us to do the good works that God has prepared ahead of time for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). Our works don’t get us into heaven, because we are saved by grace alone (Ephesians 2:8); however, our works do reveal the love and goodness of God to people in this world, and we receive rewards in heaven for what we have done during our earthly lifetime.

When God created the world, the Bible says that “darkness was on the face of the deep… Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light” (Genesis 1:2–3 NKJV). Light was the first thing He created, which shows how important it is. Some people love darkness more than light because their deeds are evil (John 3:19–20). We should pray for those who dwell in darkness that they will let the light of God’s Word into their lives so they may be delivered and set free.
